There are more then 420 member businesses in this association, and it is active not only in policing members' standards and practices, but it also pays for research that has the potential to help each member do a better job for you. Either by cutting costs or improving the cabinets they put into kitchens. And they lobby the government on behalf of kitchen cabinet makers, and that has to be good for customers, since businesses running in step with government regulations will prosper and be able to give a guarantee of support and extra work long after your kitchen has been made new.
One particularly good thing this manufacturer's association does is to promote an environmental protection certification launched in 2006: the Environmental Stewardship Program.
It's the only certification focused on kitchen and bath cabinets, and it rates manufacturers in air quality, product resource management, process resource management, environmental stewardship and community relations. More than 120 cabinet manufacturers have achieved a certificate. Buying from them assures you that your kitchen cabinets are using wood from sustainable reserves and built to environmentally positive practices.
